Remember, the cycling shoes come in European sizes and no brands make half sizes. So, if your foot is between two sizes it is better to opt for larger size.
There are basically two primary reasons why you must choose for larger size. First, if you are wearing smaller sized shoes for indoor cycling, you will probably be putting more pressure than required on your foot while you are in standing position. Secondly, if there is any added resistance to the wheel it means more pressure on your feet.
For these two reasons it is always suggested to never buy smaller size cycling shoes if your foot is in between sizes.
There are more reasons too like tight shoes starts giving almost unbearable pressure to your feet and this sends paid to the entire leg, from top to bottom. Also, you may feel fatigued faster due to this.
Apart from the sizes to consider, you need to know that cleats are sold attached with the shoes. So, you need to buy it separately and get them installed. The installing part is not tough. Even you can screw it. If not, have them installed by the right person. It is best to get it installed at a sporting goods or cycling store.
If you want to rent cycling shoes there is something to consider too. Most spin studios offer road style shoes equipped with delta cleats. It is better to find any such studio for renting cycling shoes. The delta cleats have soft leather outter sole and plate style bottom sole. Those are very stiff and have three holes in the bottom part for the bolt style cleat to fit in.
