UK EMBASSY ATTACKED NEWS - After yesterdays storming and ransacking of UK embassy and residential compound in Iran by protesters, Britain has evacuated diplomatic staff from the country.

According to Foreign Office, the evacuations were done to ensure safety of staff along with their families. First group of staff are to fly out to Dubai today. It has not been confirmed whether all the UK diplomats are being evacuated out of Iran.

The Iranian protesters smashed windows of two British diplomatic compounds in capital Tehran and torched car and British flag protesting against the newly introduced sanctions on Iran over the nuclear programme imposed by London.

Iran is the fifth biggest oil exporter in the world and it says the need of nuclear plants is for generation of electricity only.

UN Security Council, European Union and United States condemned the attack. UK Prime Minister David Cameron warned of "serious consequences". He added the failure of Iran government in defending the diplomat staff and British property was a disgrace.

In 1979 US embassy in Tehran was attacked and 52 Americans were taken hostage for 444 days. After the incidence US had cut diplomatic ties with Iran.

Iranian police spokesman said to media that all the computer shops are prohibited from selling it, quoting the game as "illegal".

Owner of games store said police raided shops and arrested its owners who tried selling the game secretly even before the ban was implemented.

An Iranian news agency writes in its Editorial that the game is "conditioning American youth for another war for Israel."

The U.S Has Never Entered A Real War: Ahmadinejad

Written By Anonymous on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 | September 22, 2010

By ETHAN Markoff

In a fresh bluster, Iran's firebrand President Mahamoud Ahmadinejad warned United States not to dare touch Iran's soil, else it would enter a real war that makes previous conflicts pale. Talking with journalists in his annual gathering Tuesday, rejecting the effects of economic sanctions and affirmed that the nuclear program was peaceful.

In a conference table, surrounded by world's leading news editors and television producers, Iran's leader warned U.S not to attack on the country otherwise U.S would see a real war with no limits.

“The United States has never entered a real war, not in Vietnam, nor in Afghanistan, nor even World War II,” Mr. Ahmadinejad said during the meeting at a hotel in Midtown Manhattan.

However, he denied the crossing of threshold limit, rejecting the threat of attack as a mere psychological warfare. He also said the Iran was always ready for talks.

In June, the United Nations Security Council passed a fourth round of sanctions that made the relationships between two countries more bitter. There were several penalties imposed by United States, Asian countries and European nations. The United Nations nuclear watchdog said the penalties were the consequence in refusing Iran to inspect and access information about its nuclear program.

The U.S officials have believed the country is moving closer toward nuclear weapons capabilities in spite Iran's affirmation that its nuclear program was peaceful.

In his statement President Ahmadinejad accused politics for the foul play. He said the international inspectors had access to Iranian nuclear sites and his country was developing in line with International nuclear treaties.

“Iran’s nuclear case is a political case,” he said. “Otherwise, why would it be essential for the details of our nuclear program to be made available to the media?”

Mr. Ahmadinejad, asked for his reaction to Iran's judiciary, which has recently assaulted by global criticism over the arrest of about 500 journalists, activists and government officials. Answering questions, Mr. Ahmadinejad explained the nation's judicial system was misinterpreted by Western world. He said the Nation was not imprisoning anyone for political reasons - a statement harshly contradicts the evaluations of human rights groups.

At home, the political rivals in Iran's conservative hierarchy appear to exploiting Ahmadinejad's absence. They blamed him for an autocratic behavior and disregarded for mismanagement in government sectors.

Iran Woman Stoning Case Invites International Outcry

Written By Malila Harris on Friday, September 10, 2010 | September 10, 2010

By MALILA Harris

IRAN NEWS - Sakineh Mohammadi-Ashtiani, the Iranian woman whose death sentence by stoning shook the international world and incited global outcry against the horrible executions.

It is reported that in the recent times only Iran executed this harrowing punishment, and not in any Islamic country where Islamic sharia law is practiced. The press reports say at least five people were executed by stoning in recent years allegedly for adultery and fornication.

"It's actually not very widely used across the Middle East and Islamic world... even in Iran," said Malcolm Smart of Amnesty International.

The right activists blamed that stoning mostly singles out women. They call it an abhorrent punishment and against the law of humanity.

The 43-year-old Sakineh Mohammadi-Ashtiani, who was a mother of two, found guilty by the Islamic court for extra martial sex. However, the case is still under review though the sentence has already put a fear quotient in the family.

Her son, Sajjad feared that she might be executed after the end of Ramadan.

Under the international pressure and outcry within home, the government is delaying the execution. However, two radical islamic rebellions - The Taliban in Afghanistan and the Shebab in Somalia are smoothly implementing the terrible punishment.

The extrajudicial "honour Killing" stoning is not only prevalent in Muslims but continues among non-Muslims in conservative societies such as Pakistan, Iraq and India.

In Iraq a minorty Kurdish Yazidi 17-year-old girl was stoned to death because she eloped with her Sunni Muslim boyfriend.

In India last May, an eloped Hindu couples from different castes were captured by relatives of woman's family and eventually stoned to death.

In traditional Islamic law stoning explicitly embedded as a legal punishment, implementing on crimes adultery or sexual misconduct. According to an Islamic website, in the teachings of Mohammed it is mentioned that the prophet himself stoned the married adulterer and adulteress to death. According to them, this is enough evidence to make the punishment proven and authentic, and certainly not debatable.

South Korea Imposes Sanctions On Iran’s Companies

Written By Anonymous on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 | September 08, 2010

By ETHAN Markoff

SOUTH KOREA NEWS – Despite Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad fiery warnings, South Korea has enforced economic sanctions on 126 Iranian companies Wednesday. Earlier Iranian firebrand president warned that the sanctions would smash up the budding trade between two countries.

South Korea’s action has considerably hamstrung Bank Mellat’s Seoul office, which at presently looks after 70 percent export business to Iran. The office is the Iran second largest bank and only office in Asia. Earlier United States pointed a finger at the bank, blaming for the facilitation of millions of dollars in transaction for Iranian nuclear and defense programs.

After these sanctions, the bank needs permission from the Bank of Korea, the central bank for all financial deals. Moreover, South Korea is contemplating to shelve bank’s operation for indefinite period. The third country transaction to Iran through the bank will be suspended.

“The Seoul branch cannot operate normally any more,” said a senior Foreign Ministry official, who briefed reporters on condition of anonymity.

According to the sources, South Korea has been under a constant pressure from US to impose sanctions on Iran. On the other hand Seoul has the largest export market in Iran and it would be a tough decision for both countries.

The 10 percent of crude oil comes from Iran to South Korea and Iran warned that it will shun South Korean cars and electronics if South Korea aims Sanctions on Iranian companies.

In an official statement, Seoul declared that the ban on Iran echoes its own desire to stop North Korea growing nuclear obsession. Last month Washington imposed similar kinds of ban on North Korea and asked South Korea to join economic sanctions against Iran.

South Korea cleared that it will not stop oil import from Iran but shun all new investments both financial and technical. In addition, Iran will also devoid of all building contracts by South Korea.

The trade between two countries had grown to to $9.6 billion last year, up from $2.9 billion in 2001.
