The time for campaigning is over and now its time to see who will get the better of the American voters this Tuesday. The world’s most dramatic and the most costly political race to what is arguably the most powerful political office in the world has now entered its final stages, with the American Presidential election beginning Tuesday at midnight.
In the final stages of campaigning and opinion polls, it was reported that the Presidential candidate Mitt Romney and the serving President Obama were almost in a neck to neck competition but President Obama was leading in some states that are considered the essential political battlegrounds in the US. Even the opinion poll results are not very positive for either Romney or Obama – at the state level they are almost tying at equal – Obama at 48% while Romney at 47%, with a margin of error. Out of 583 electoral colleges a candidate requires 270 electoral colleges to win the race to the White House. Obama has 204 colleges in his favor while Romney has 190 colleges to him, according to the opinion poll conducted by RealClearPolitics.com in the States.

The question now is who will win the keys to the most powerful political office in the world. The health of the US economy has been the central theme to the run up to the coming US election, with both President Barack Obama and the Republican challenger Mitt Romney. Both have sought to convince the American people that both had individual plans to bring speedy growth and job creation.
The American economy plodded to break over a 2% yearly growth pace since the 2007 to 2009 recession and unemployment stays high at 7.9%. It is to be noted that about 23 million yanks are either jobless, part time workers seeking full time jobs but have given up the effort to search.
The plans for the economy of Obama and Romney may be followed. Obama plans to strengthened American manufacture,expand small enterprises, improve education and be less dependent on foreign oil. He sees 1 million new manufacturing jobs by 2016, 600,000 jobs in the natural gas sector and hire 100,000 math and science teachers. Of course there is the need to repair and replace old roads. Money saved ending wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, would be carried over for infrastructure projects.
Romney has assured on the other hand 12 million jobs in his first term if elected.Or 250,000 jobs a month tentatively. His plans are for tax reforms, economy toward energy independence, slashing regulations and enhancing trade especially with China.
There is housing crisis at the core of the economy,s woes. Both the gentlemen did not spell out detailed plans for how they would go about the execution.
Obama fought the independent regulator of government-controlled Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Edward DeMarco, trying to convince him into mortgaging finance firms, to lessen principal for borrowers, owing more than their homes are worth.
Romney remarked at one point in his campaign that housing market needed to hit bottom, without government interference, and offered few clues, on his likely approach to foreclosures.It is agreed that government hand in the mortgage market should be reduced. However neither candidate has outlined a plan to execute.
Obama wants Chairman Ben Bernanke to accept a third term, but sources say that he may decline. His term expires on Jan. 31, 2013. he may be substituted with Fed Vice Chairwoman Janet Yellen, and Romney would not reappoint Bernanke.
Sources say that whoever is chosen by Romney will be little hawkish than Bernanke. Advisers Glenn Hubbard, Greg Mankiw and John Taylor of Romney are in the race.

Obama proposed to cut the government budget deficit by more than $4 trillion by the next decade.Romney wants to cut marginal tax rates for individuals by 20% and broaden the tax base by closing loopholes. He would keep all the Bush tax cuts in place in a plan which would be revenue neutral. He also wants to reduce federal spending to 20% of US GDP over four years from its current level of about 24%. Both want to reduce the corporate tax rate, although Romney would reduce it further.

China, The Key To Tab Against North Korea Provocations: U.S Military

CHINA NEWS - China can play a pivotal role to put restrain against provocative behavior of North Korea, the top U.S military official said Wednesday.
Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said in an interview that in a recent crisis of war between North and South Korea, China could play the key role to stop the behavior of North Korea. He further emphasis on role of China to influence North Korea to stop provocative actions.
China, Mullen said, has much at stake in stopping North Korea's leader Kim Jong Il from taking more provocative actions.
The United States is hoping China would impose or strict its economic support and trade with North Korea to exercise influence to tame the provocative actions of North Korea.
It is reported that President Obama will call Chinese President Hu Jintao in the next few days to discuss the issue over North Korea.
State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said Tuesday that China would play a key role in moving North Korea in a different direction. The economic and trade influence could restrain North Korea to a greater degree, U.S is now hoping China to influence North Korea to reduce tensions that have risen from North Korean provocations and then secondarily to put pressure on nation to stop nuclear enrichment possibilities.
China still to condemn its neighbor for sudden attack on Korean border, however, maintaining a diplomatic pressure by emphasis on talks with Pyongyang.
After North Korea attack on South Korea, China strongly urged both sides to maintain peace and restrain, and forces them to engage in talks as quickly as possible in order to prevent similar incidents in future.
In the meanwhile President Obama has declared a joint exercise with South Korea against North Korea.

Osama in Pakistan, says US Vice President

PAKISTAN & AFGHANISTAN NEWS: Joe Biden, US Vice President said that the Taliban and al-Qaida leaders are hiding in Pakistan's tribal areas, where the US is fighting a war on terror. Even Osama bin Laden is hiding there he said in an interview to CNN.
Biden said, "In the FATA, the western part of Pakistan in the mountains on the Afghan border, that is a war on terror. That's where al-Qaida lives. That's where bin Laden is. That's where the most radicalized part of the Taliban is"
He also added, "The situation we have as it relates to problems that exist in other parts of the world, they aren't all related to terror," while replying to a question that if the
the Obama administration has stopped use of the phrase "global war on terror."
The vice president asserted there is a war on terror. He said that terror is a legitimate threat. It is a threat which comes from al-Qaida and all other organisations that have morphed off of al-Qaida, but there are other interests that the government have beyond merely - for example, the crisis in the Middle East is not at all a global war on terror. But it matters to the US mightily whether or not to end up with an accommodation between the Israelis and the Palestinians," he said.
Joe Biden said Obama administration is fully concerned that al-Qaida has reconstituted itself under the administration of in the mountain regions on the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
