Mother of WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, says she will be participating in the protest of against the Barack Obama's visit on November 17 outside the Australian parliament.

Christine Assange told to media, "I'll get as close as I can."

On the day Obama will be addressing a special sitting of the parliament.

The 40-year-old Julian Assange said, "I'm asking Australians around the country on November 17th to refuse to celebrate the Obama visit and instead replace it with a day of support for Julian."

The WikiLeaks, anti-secrecy website of Assange, has enraged governments around the world by leaking thousands of United States diplomatic cables on the Internet.

Recently Assange lost his extradition fight from Britain to Sweden. His mother fears he will be rendered to the US.

Until now Australia has been giving consular support to Assange, but it has made it clear to Britain and Sweden that the government will not intervene directly in the legal processes of other countries.

As a US president, this is the first visit of Obama to Australia. Last time George W Bust, the then US president visited the country in 2007 in Australia for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.

Two previous trips of Obama was canceled due to Gulf of Mexico oil spill and oversee passage of domestic health reforms.

This visit of Obama will mark the 60th anniversary of military alliance between the two countries.

Afterwards, Obama will attend the Indonesian resort island of Bali for East Asia summit.

INVESTIGATION: U.S. Lobbies For Low Haiti Wages So Hanes And Levis Would Stay Cheap

Written By Admin on Monday, July 18, 2011 | July 18, 2011

HAITI NEWS: The Barack Obama Administration fought to lower the slave wages in Haiti to as low as 31 cents an hour, according to The Nation publishing Wikileaks post recently.

The article in The Nation stated that such things started when Haitian law was passed about two years ago to raise the minimum wage of workers in the country to 61 cents an hour.

The embassy cable reads the following:

This infuriated American corporations like Hanes and Levi Strauss that pay Haitians slave wages to sew their clothes. They said they would only fork over a seven-cent-an-hour increase, and they got the State Department involved. The U.S. ambassador put pressure on Haiti’s president, who duly carved out a $3 a day minimum wage for textile companies (the U.S. minimum wage, which itself is very low, works out to $58 a day).

Haiti has about 25,000 garment workers. If you paid each of them $2 a day more, it would cost their employers $50,000 per working day, or about $12.5 million a year ... As of last year Hanes had 3,200 Haitians making t-shirts for it. Paying each of them two bucks a day more would cost it about $1.6 million a year. Hanesbrands Incorporated made $211 million on $4.3 billion in sales last year.

A small newspaper in Haiti, Haiti Liberte, with offices in New York City and Port-au-Prince highlighted the issue.

Google Quit China For Political Reason: Wikileaks

Written By one-liners on Sunday, December 5, 2010 | December 05, 2010

Google China War
By ONE Liners Agency

CHINA NEWS - Yet another embarrassing revelation released by whistle-blowing site Wikileaks, cites a well placed source as saying the hacking of Google earlier this year, which forced the internet giant to quit China was “100% political.”

The leak US cables suggest that senior Chinese political men were behind the much controversial Google hacking story, though the cable denies any proof of top leaders to be involved in the incident.

It is reported that Beijing has been alarmed by Google’s high resolution satellite imagery, Google Earth.

Earlier this year, Google blamed China to attack the company by sophisticated cyber technology. It is said the email accounts of human right activists were among those hacked.

China also censored Google in its country, and to avoid increasing conflict, Google the country and moved its Chinese-language operations to Hong Kong.

The source who is oblivious and name is deleted from the text said the operations against Google this year from Chinese government were absolutely 100% political in nature, and not an attempt of common perception to boost domestic search engines such as Baidu.

However, the writer says it’s still in doubt whether President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao were aware of government’s ulterior action against the search engine.
