After Devastation In Philippines, Typhoon Megi Turns To China

CHINA NEWS – At least 10 people were killed in devastation caused by typhoon Megi in the northern of Philippines Monday, heading towards southern coast of China.

The Philippines authority warned that the death toll could be much larger and the communication and other damages are still to be repaired. It is reported that the typhoon was the strongest in a few decades and caused much damaged, destroying the houses and cut the power supply.

Now the typhoon Megi is heading towards the southern coast of China after passed over the main island Luzon.

The southern Chinese island of Hainan heavy downpour has made more than 100,000 people to flee their homes. The weather department has predicted that typhoon Megi could also hit Vietnam where flood is prevalent, killing at least 31 people with 23 people missing in a recent times.

Flash floods also a problem for northern Thailand where houses are demolished due to flash floods.

In the Philippines already rescue team has been sent to save people for dilapidated houses.
"The waves in Maconacon were as big as houses and swamped the town plaza facing the Pacific Ocean," said Faustino Dy, the governor of hard-hit Isabela province.

The flood has not only destroy people homes but also affects on agriculture to a large extent. The agriculture department has estimated at least 10% of the rice crop have been damaged.

Typhoon Megi was the strongest in last four years and considered in five super typhoon with winds in excess of 250 km/h.
