The latest jailbreaking tool for iPad and iPhone is "Spirit". It brings freedom to all the devices of Apple that runs firmware 3.1.2, 3.1.3 or 3.2. The hacker community has named this jailbreak as "userland" jailbreak i.e. exploiting a security weakness in the OS.
How to jailbreak:
01. First, make sure that the latest version of iTunes are being run, 9.1.1 version. Sync the device to back it up. For iPad, OS 3.2 is necessary.
02. Next, download Spirit jailbreak for PC or Mac. You can get it from the homepage of Spirit.
03. With the help of USB cable, connect the iPhone, iPod Touch or your iPad to your computer.
04. Now, run the jailbreak app. For Windows users there is a slight difference. You need to run it as an administrator. Just right-click on the .exe file, then from the menu select "Run as Administrator." If still it does not work-out, run it in compatibility mode.
05. Click on the Spirit jailbreak button.
06. Automatic rebooting starts.
07. After rebooting is done, "Cydia" app installation is seen on the desktop and you can access third-party apps from here.
It's so simple. Now, your iPad or iPhone has been hacked.
One thing to note here is that the Spirit jailbreak is not a "carrier unlock". It is just a jailbreak.
There are other jailbreak programs too for iPads. Few of the favorites are Notifier, SBSettings, Backgrounder and FullForce. Few of these don't have their own website, but you can get them in Cydia containing description as well as screenshots.
