Islamabad, July 28 - At least 50 people are feared to be killed in a sudden jet crash, carrying 152 people into the hills surrounding Pakistan's capital. The crash is believed to occur due to poor weather condition and still not to be found any list of alive passengers.
However, Interior Minister of Pakistan Rehman Malik said that five people would be survive the disaster and were transferred to a hospital in Islamabad. But doctors reported there was no sign of survivors at the city's two largest hospitals.
“Now we are pretty sure that there is not a single survivor,” Hanif Khattak, the director general of Pakistan’s Civil Defense, told The Associated Press near the crash site.
In a footage by local TV shows broken plane's parts are scattered here and there and some are hanging from the trees. The army said they sent special troops for rescuing any survivors.
“I’m seeing only body parts,” Dawar Adnan, a rescue worker with the Pakistan Red Crescent, told The Associated Press over telephone from the crash site. “This is a very horrible scene. We have scanned almost all the area, but there is no chance of any more survivors.”
The reason of the crash is still unknown and it is believed that sudden bad weather condition could a reason behind the disaster. Airblue is a private service based in Karachi, and the plane left the southern city of Karachi at 7.45 a.m. for a two-hour scheduled flight to Islamabad.
At Islamabad airport, the condition of hundred of friends and relatives of the passengers are turmoiled. Hundreds of people are desperately seeking information at ticket counters and surrounded the passenger list of Airblue ticket counter.
