INDIAN ELECTION NEWS: Varun Gandhi sings a different song. A day after the Election Commission filed a case against Varun Gandhi for his communal remarks, he said that he is the victim of a political conspiracy. Varun mentioned that he is well aware of his roots as a proud Gandhi, an Indian and is also a Hindu in equal measure.

Briefing to the media Varun Gandhi said that there was an effort to malign his faith. He told to the press that anyone attempting to identify with Hinduism was inevitably branded communal.

In his own words: "I am a victim of political conspiracy." Varun Gandhi, son of sitting Pilibhit MP and former central minister Maneka Gandhi said this on tuesday.

Gandhi added, "Nothing I have said was to incite anybody. There is a rigorous attempt to malign my faith," he said, adding "each time anyone tries to identify with Hindusim, he is being branded communal."



He also said that he is a pro-India and he is not against anybody.

BJP spokesperson, Ravi Shankar Prasad, later on the day, said, "We disapprove and disassociate ourselves from the statements made by Varun Gandhi."

    I think the entire country should take pity on this kid who has lost the ability to use his brain for rational thinking, and knowing what is good for the country in which he lives in. It looks like everything has gone wrong with his upbringing. I wish he had taken a lesson on two from his cousins, Rahul and Priyanka. This country is not owned by any single community - whether major or minor, and definitely not by his family or the saffron brigade. I am sure the nation and its large electorate will ensure that we don't entrust the responsibility of running this progressive nation to such individuals. Puppy shame Varun! Ask your mom to teach you manners!!

Flood Follows Drought In Southern China, 9 Dead

By ONE Liners Agency TUESDAY, June 07, 2011 At least 9 people have been killed and many other missing Monday in flood after torrential rain in Guizhou province. About 60,000 people have been evacuated so far, said civil affairs bureau of the province. The heavy rain first hit many parts of the province on Friday affecting about 200,000 people. About 170 million yuan ($26.23 million) of economic losses have been measured so far due to wiping up of farmland in the region. The Civil Affairs ministry and National Commission for Disaster Reduction have sent 100 tents, 2,000 quilds and about 3,000 items of clothing to the flood-hit region. A special work team has also been sent to the crisis region to direct relief work. Ahead of the rain, there were drought in the region where over 3.5 million people suffered water shortages. Toshiba, IBM To Pump More Investments In Malaysia

By ETHAN Markoff November 11, 2011 MALAYSIA NEWS - Toshiba and IBM, both Fortune 500 companies, will pump about RM1.2bil in Malaysia as the country estimates of reaching US$10bil (RM3.1bil) this year in foreign direct investment (FDI). Japanese electronics Toshiba and computer giant IBM have plans of enhancing their presence and growth in Malaysia with new investments of RM268mil and RM1bil respectively. US-based Akamai Technologies has also been learned of investing in the country. Toshiba will be making Malaysia its global supply chain hub along with R&D and turnkey for the South-East Asian market for its transmission and distribution equipment. IBM on the other hand will be pouring fresh capital over the next five years to set up Global Technology Services Delivery Centre in Cyberjaya. Cambodia-Thailand Trade Recovering

By STAFF REPORTER October 17, 2011 In the first eight months of this year the trade between Thailand and Cambodia went up by 8%. Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh said yesterday the trade between went up to $1.93 billion. The export of Cambodia to Thailand was 125.6 million dollars, which is 17% lower compared to the same period last year, whereas the export of Thailand to Cambodia went up by 10% to 1.8 billion dollars. Director of Thai embassy's Foreign Trade Promotion Office, Jiranan Wongmongkol said trade between the two countries is seeing better recovery since August when the Pheu Thai Party came to power led by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. She added, "We project that through restoring good relations between the two nations, the bilateral trade will grow around 20 percent this year." Steve McCurry Famous Photograph – The Story Of The ‘Afghan Girl’

From EDITOR's Desk August 13, 2011 17 years later, the story continues with a simple photograph of a sea green eyed girl when a casual photography by McCurry turned out to be one of those captivating portrait that sear the heart and ran on the cover of National Geographic magazine in June 1985. The shy girl was among hordes of refugees at the refugee camp in Pakistan. The anger of those haunted eyes was apparent, which swept away the photography fraternity and not least the whole world, but after 17 years nobody actually remember her, even her name. The year is 2011 when a team from National Geography Television & Films brought McCurry to Pakistan to search the immortal face. They searched around Nasir Bagh where the refugee camp still stands lonely among multitude. After showing her photographs to number of people, they came to know the girl in the picture returned to Afghanistan and now lived in the mountains near Tora Bora. So, they decided to hunt the girl.
