150th Engineers Day Celebrated In India
Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya (15 September 1860 - 14 April 1962) By ONE Liners Agency ENGINEERS DAY 2010 - Today, 15th September, is Engineers Day in India, celebrated in memory of eminent engineer, planner and statesman of the country Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya on his birthday. Bharat Ratna Mokshgundam Visvesvaraya was the greatest engineer ever in post independence era of India. On the Engineers Day, people across the country observe the day in respoect of Sir M. Visvesvaraya and engineers pay tributes to him. The Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur and Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum (Bangalore) are named after Sir M. Visvesvarya. Sir M. Visvesvaraya was born at Muddenahalli, near Kanivenarayanapure (presently Chikballapur District of Karnataka) in 1860.
