Samsung Galaxy Core 2 was announced in June 2014 and will be competing against the likes of Moto G, Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo, Sony Xperia C, Huwaei Honor 3C and the Nokia Lumia 625. It is believed these smartphones will be the top 5 competitors of the phone. Below is discussed why they are competitors and on what basis:
Display
The Samsung Galaxy Core 2 will have 4.5-inch TFT capacitive display with 480 x 800 pixels, with pixel density as low as 207 ppi. The device will have 130.3 x 68 x 9.8 mm dimensions and weigh 138 g.
The Moto G has a 4.5-inch IPS LCD qHD display with 1280 x 720 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo has a TFT 5.01-inch WVGA display with 480 x 800 Pixels.
The Sony Xperia C 5-inch qHD is a scratch resistant display with 960 x 540 Pixels.
The Huwaei Honor 3C has a 5-inch LCD HD display with 1280 x 720 Pixels.
The Nokia Lumia 625 has a 4.7-inch WVGA display with 480 x 800 Pixels and sunlight readability.
Camera
The primary shooter of the Galaxy Core 2 will be a 5 MP with autofocus and LED flash and the front camera will be a VGA one.
Moto G also has a 5 MP rear camera but the front camera is 1.3 MP.
The Galaxy Grand Neo also has a 5 MP rear camera and the 0.3 MP VGA front camera.
The Xperia C has a 8 MP main camera and a 0.3 MP front camera, while the Huwaei Honor 3C has a 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera.
The Nokia Lumia 625 has a 5 MP rear camera and a 0.3 MP front-facing one.
Connectivity
The Galaxy Core 2 has Dual SIM, Dual stand-by with speeds up to HSDPA 21 Mbps; HSUPA 5.76 Mbps and Wi-Fi standards 802.11 b/g/n alongwith Wi-Fi hotspot.
The Moto G also has Dual SIM - GSM + GSM, Dual Standby. The Moto G has speeds for 21.1 Mbps HSDPA; 5.76 Mbps HSUPA.
The Galaxy Grand Neo also has Dual SIM - GSM + GSM, Dual Smart with speed of up to 21.1 Mbps HSDPA; 5.76 Mbps HSUPA.
The Xperia C is also equipped with Dual SIM - GSM + GSM with speeds of up to 42 Mbps HSDPA; 11.5 Mbps HSUPA.
Huwaei Honor 3C also has Dual SIM - GSM + GSM, with Dual Standby.
The Nokia Lumia 625 is single SIM device (microSIM) - GSM, with speeds of 42.2 Mbps HSDPA; 5.76 Mbps HSUPA.
All of these devices support A-GPS standard except Moto G, and Galaxy Core 2 and Moto G also has GLONASS support.
All of these devices also have Wi-Fi b/g/n standards along-with Wi-Fi hotspot functionality, except the Huwaei Honor 3C and the Galaxy Grand 2. Bluetooth v4 is supported all these devices, along with microUSB v2. All of these devices also have the same 3.5mm audio head-set jack.
Operating System
Among these 5 devices, only the Nokia Lumia 625 is a Windows 8 phone, and all the rest are Android devices.
The Huwaei Honor 3C, Sony Xperia C and the Galaxy Grand Neo have Android 4.2 JellyBean OS, and the Moto G and Galaxy Core 2 have Android 4.4 Kitkat.
