Lately, in the month of July this year, the company released its new design called Newtown Energy footware to give the joys of natural running to runners. The shoe weighs 9-ounce and is priced tagged much less than its sibling Newtown Gravity. It comes with the same color blocking and is being retailed for just $119.
The height of forefoot lug is now shorter for smoother transition and the mid foot is cushioned by the company's patented Action/ Reaction technology. At the rear the Newtown Energy has high-rebound EVA and the upper part is a tight mesh. At the heel part the shoe features 3D reflectors.
The price of Newtown Gravity in the market is around $150 and it weighs a bit more than the Newtown Energy, 9.1-ounce.
Initially the runner may feel little unnerving with the Energy. The cushioning softness at the rear part is noticeable as one may notice it lacks tread patterning of mid and forefoot.
The Newtown Energy was tested outdoors and proved capable on damp and dry concrete surface. The fifth lug got additional width and this makes the show undeniably stable. Also, not much degradation to the lugs was noticed after few treadmill miles.
However, there was discomfort found at the time of adjustment. Apart from this, the shoe is incredibly comfortable. It gives more focused motion and more enjoyable running.
