THANKSGIVING DINNER ON SPACE: Cosmonaut Mikhail Tyurin (left), Expedition 3 flight engineer, and astronaut Frank L. Culbertson, mission commander. They are on International Space Station's (ISS) Zvezda Service Module.
THANKSGIVING DINNER ON SPACE: Members of STS-129 crew on International Space Station (ISS).
THANKSGIVING DINNER ON SPACE: For astronauts the holiday meals are limited. Their food is simple, appetizing, familiar, freeze-dried and are made to be prepared easily and very quickly. A full meal for a crew of four can be made in just about 20 minutes. Here we can see bags of freeze-dried space food in individual portions alongside utensils which are then attached to a tray with Velcro.
