Late on Friday, Australian Cricketer Brett Lee has announced his retirement from all forms of international
cricket. In spite of retiring from
International cricket, Lee has expressed his intentions to continue playing for
Indian Premier League and Big Bash League. The retirement came after Brett Lee,
35, suffered a calf injury during Australia’s 3rd ODI against England. He originally planned to retire at the ICC
World Twenty20 that’s scheduled to start late August.
Brett Lee had an
illustrious Cricket career and took 380 scalps in ODIs equaling Glenn McGraths
record for Australia in ODIs. Brett Lee took retirement from Test Cricket a
couple of years back in February 2010. He appeared in his final international
match for Australia in Durham last week during Australia’s third ODI against
England during which he hurt his calf while bowling the 3rd over of
his spell. He returned home after the calf injury and decided to make the
official retirement at the SCG.
