Turkish President Abdullah Gul said on Saturday his country
would take all the necessary steps against Syria for the downing of its
military jets. However, it was not clear whether the President was talking
about military retaliation or other possible steps.
According to the Anatolia news agency, Mr Gul said it is not
possible to keep a cover over such things.
Syria on the other hand said on Friday that a Turkish
military jet entered its airspace and so was shot down.
Mr Gul mentioned the exact route of the jet is not yet
confirmed and the jets flying at high speeds was ruinous and may have briefly
crossed into the airspace of another country, but it was not intended as a
hostile act.
