MISS EARTH 2011 NEWS - Miss Ecuador Olga Alva took center stage at Miss Earth 2011 coronation night at the University of Philippines Theater in Diliman, Quezon City.
The 23-year-old fashion model was declared the winner of beauty pageant. Miss Earth 2010 Nicole Faria passed the crown to Alva, taking her farewell walk.
Miss Brazil Drielly Bennettone got the first runner-up Miss Earth-Air 2011 title while Miss Philippines Athena Imperial was crowned as Miss Earth Water, the second runner-up.
Miss South Africa Dominique Mann won the talent round and Miss Chinese Taipei Cherry Liu dominated the online voting in the contest. The Best Long Gown award was given to Miss Mexico Cassandra Becerra and Miss Czech Republic won the title of swimsuit competition.
The top 16 contestants included beauties from Paraguay, Ukraine, Portugal, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Sweden, Venezuela, Crimea, Thaialnd, Mexico, Zimbabwe, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The environmental advocacy of Miss Ecuador is preserving forests and engaging people more on tree planting.
Next year the Miss Earth beauty pageant will be held at Ninh Thuan in Vietnam in December 2012. It will be the 12th edition of the contest.
The top 8 emerged to be from Crimea, Mexico, Ecuador, Philippines, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Venezuela, Brazil and Zimbabwe.
Eighty-three contestants, "Earth warriors", participated in the environmentthemed Miss Earth contest this year.

The good side is that the Philippines offer a venue to the visitors to experience enjoyable experience? I believe that, yes, you can have fun in the Philippines, provided that certain criteria are met. Moments, savor the natural beauty of its landscape, and have fun. This is the only island that I know of that is comprised of 1,707 small islands, most of which are uninhabitable. The Philippines, as a tropical country, offers an awesome and inspiring panoramic view of several thousands of small islands that seem interconnected so beautifully. If you love water sports and island-hopping, then the Philippines is a real island paradise, second to none, allowing you a sublime experience?
