INDIA/ ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - Starting Tuesday Lakme Fashion Week Winter/ Festive 2011 will be a fair share of glamour and glitz. The 6-day event from August 16 to 21 will focus more on business opportunities as the canvass is now bigger than before and buyers from US, Japan and Germany are also participating in it this time. The fashion extravaganza will provide a bigger platform this year to boost business.
CEO of event organiser Lakme Lever, Anil Chopra, said to news agencies, "In an endeavour to drive the business of fashion and meet the demands of ever increasing buyers, The Source, the business hub at LFW will be completely revamped. This season will see an increase in the number of designers exhibiting as well as designer and buyer related activities throughout the day."
He added that LFW Winter/Festive 2011 is looking forward for more buyers, both in domestic and overseas.
The fashion event will be held at Grand Hyatt in Mumbai where a line up of 87 designers are participating, including Rohit Bal.
For the first time a unique preview area named Talent Box is set up where the stall designers will be showcasing their collections.
As glamour and Bollywood go parallel in Mumbai, LFW is expecting few famous Bollywood celebrities either as showstoppers or to take the chair in front row audience.
Launched in last season of LFW, the entire event will be televised live on Internet through LFW TV broadcasts. Max Bupa, a leading healthy insurance company, will bring the live coverage of the fashion week.
